How to Install Weathershields on Your Vehicle – A Step-by-Step Guide

How to Install Weathershields on Your Vehicle – A Step-by-Step Guide

Installing AUSGO Weather Shields on your vehicle ensures better ventilation, reduced wind noise, and protection from rain. Follow this guide to install both Double-Sided Tape Installation and Double-Sided Tape & Clip Installation versions properly.

AUSGO Weather Shields – Double-Sided Tape Installation

1. Test for Proper Fit

Before installation, hold the weather shields against your vehicle to check alignment and ensure they do not obstruct the windows or doors.

2. Clean the Surface

Use a mild soap and water solution to remove dirt, dust, and residue from the installation area. A clean surface ensures a secure and long-lasting bond.

3. Apply Adhesive Promoter (Optional)

For stronger adhesion, apply a small amount of adhesive promoter directly on the tape or the vehicle surface where the shields will be attached.

4. Install the Weathershields

  • Peel 5-10 cm of adhesive tape from each end of the shield.
  • Align the shield properly and attach the exposed adhesive sections.
  • Once positioned correctly, remove the rest of the tape and press down firmly to secure the bond.

5. Test and Cure

  • Open and close the windows and doors to ensure smooth operation.
  • Avoid washing your car for 48 hours to let the adhesive set completely.

Weather Shields with Clips

1. Check Fit and Accessories

  • Align the weather shields with your window to ensure a proper fit.
  • Verify that you have the correct number of clips, brackets, and pins for installation.

2. Clean the Surface

Use a cleaning cloth to wipe down the installation area, removing any dust or residue.

3. Insert Metal Brackets

  • Carefully slide the metal brackets between the window frame and rubber strips (not inside the window channel).
  • This secures the shields without interfering with window operation.

4. Apply Adhesive Tape

  • Peel 5-10 cm of tape at each end, align the shield, and attach the exposed section.
  • Remove the remaining tape and press down firmly to ensure a strong bond.

5. Secure the Brackets

  • Align the metal brackets with the holes in the shields.
  • Use the black clips, pins, and caps to fasten them securely.

6. Final Check & Curing Time

  • Test your windows and doors to ensure smooth operation.
  • Do not wash your car for 48 hours to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
